Michael Whitby has been announced as the new group procurement director. Whitby will replace the interim group procurement director Mark Swyny who has been in this position since August this year, following the departure of Caroline Booth.
Previously Whitby held the position of purchasing chief of Best Buy Europe. Best Buy Europe are a consumer electronics organisation and he was in post for 3 years.
Whitby has previous procurement roles held at as BAA’s group supply chain director, sourcing director at both Barclay’s Bank and Reuter’s and head of IT purchasing at Natwest.
